✭ Having access to "Renaissance Home Connect" allows parents to check progress in AR (including percent correct in
quizzes, number of points earned, etc.) and to see all the books the student has read. Plus, parents can click on "Email setup,"
enter their name and email address, and receive automatically generated emails about the student's progress. Emails are sent
when the student takes an Accelerated Reader quiz. The only thing that cannot be done is to actually take AR quizzes
because that can only be done at school. It is pretty simple, and it will only take a few minutes to set up your email notices.
Please assist your child by checking his/her progress often. Discuss books and encourage reading! This is how you can
access all this information and start helping your child to keep up with reading skills and earn points in the AR program:
1. Go to the Renaissance website by clicking on this link… https://hosted22.renlearn.com/265629/homeconnect/login.aspx
2. Type in your child's 6-digit school ID number (the same number your child uses to take AR quizzes at school).
3. Type in the password "abc"
4. A lot of different information can be found on your child's page, including average percent correct, quiz scores,
number of points earned, etc. Click on "View My Bookshelf" in the lower right hand side to view the books your
child has read. Click on a book and information on the quiz taken is available (percent correct, points earned, etc.).
5. To set up the email notices, click on "Email Setup" at the top right once your child's page loads. Enter the
information needed, and start receiving information via email each time your child takes a quiz.
6. To access information about books before your child reads them (information about levels, points, etc.), click on the
box in the lower right hand side. This takes you directly to the link that will help you find information about
hundreds of thousands of books.
✭ All volunteers need to have a TB test/clearance on file in the office. These tests need to be renewed every 4 years. Please
show the office your proof of TB clearance.
✭ You can now order Scholastic books online instead of sending in orders/payments to me (although you can still do that
every month if you want to). To order books online, you just need to follow these simple steps:
1. Sign up at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs
2. On the parent page, click the “Don’t have a Username and Password” link.
3. Register your own username and password (which you will use every time you order online)
4. When prompted, enter the one-time Class Activation Code (DYBZD).
5. Select books that you want to order.
6. Order by the due date (usually one week after book orders are sent home in Thursday Folders) and books will be
delivered to the classroom and sent home with your child. No need to send in order forms or payments to the
teacher (but you can still do that if you want…make checks payable to "Scholastic, Inc." if you do not want to
order online, but please do not send cash).
7. It is fast and easy for you to order online…try it!
