JANUARY - Respect
"Never look down on anybody unless you're
helping him up."
-Jesse Jackson, American political activist
"The true measure of an individual is how he
treats a person who can do him
absolutely no good."
Our character education theme for the month of January is RESPECT. It is important that children to learn to be polite and kind. We need to model respect for our children so they will learn from example. In our class, we are learning it is important to respect our environment, property, ourselves, and each other. We will be encouraging respectful behavior throughout the month (and always) through various activities and discussions. Please encourage respect at home as well. Parents can help by reminding their children how important it is to always treat everyone and everything with dignity. Please help at home by modeling, having discussions, and stressing the importance of appropriate ethical conduct (such as respect). The possibilities are endless!
