APRIL - Loyalty
"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but
the parent of all others."
-Cicero (Roman orator, philosopher, and statesman)
"I think a good friend, to me, is all about trust and
loyalty. You don't ever want to second-guess whether
you can tell your friend something."
-Lauren Conrad (television personality)
"Loyalty and friendship, which to me is the same, created
all the wealth that I've ever thought I'd have."
-Ernie Banks (baseball player)
Our character education theme for the month of April is LOYALTY. It is important that children learn to be faithful, especially to one's country, team, family, and friends. It is equally important for all people to be loyal by being faithful to commitments or obligations. We need to model loyalty for our children so they will learn from example. In our class we are learning that others will see us being supportive and dependable when we are considered to be a loyal person. We will be encouraging loyal behavior throughout the month (and always) through various activities and discussions. Please encourage loyalty at home as well. Please help your children understand loyalty by modeling, having discussions, and stressing the importance of appropriate ethical conduct (such as loyalty). Remind your children how important it is to always be loyal, faithful, and dependable. The possibilities are endless!
