Our character education theme for the month of March is TRUSTWORTHINESS. It is important that children to learn to be reliable. It is equally important for all people to be responsible and dependable. We need to model trustworthiness for our children so they will learn from example. In our class, we are learning that people are expected to be counted on and relied upon at times. We are also learning that it is important to be truthful and to act in a trustworthy manner so that people can rely on us to do the right things. We will be encouraging trustworthy behavior throughout the month (and always) through various activities and discussions. Please encourage trustworthiness at home as well. Parents can help by having children help around the house. Perhaps they can bring in the mail and the newspaper, care for pets, and do chores for the family. Parents can give examples of trustworthiness in life such as returning what has been borrowed, returning money that has been found, keeping promises, etc. Please help at home by reminding your children how important it is to always be trustworthy. The possibilities are endless!
